One huge key to adding interest to courses in Articulate Rise is visual assets. Learners' experience can be greatly enhanced by pulling content out of conventional paragraph form and presenting it in a creative, concise, or unexpected way.
Well-thought infographics provide quick and engaging visualisations of course content while adding aesthetic appeal.
Custom icons and headings can break up text and offer the learner signposting, providing a better sense of direction within the course.
All graphics are accompanied by either alt text or a downloadable PDF for accessibility.
Insights
Designing e-learning for Eduscape is an excellent exercise in creativity within boundaries. While Rise provides a variety of lesson building blocks, its parameters are limiting if only text or stock photos are added. Creating these e-learning courses is helping me hone my ability to sense graphic opportunities and elevate content to a richer experience.
