Details

Determined to place quality training in the pockets of those who need it most, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research teamed up with Improvement Sciences to design engaging mobile learning.

EdApp

Using existing training materials, graphics, and photo assets provided by UNITAR, our team created sets of courses in a variety of topic areas. These visually pleasing mobile learning tidbits are limited to no more than 15 minutes of content per lesson and are brisk enough to fit into leaners' busy schedules yet packed with valuable content and practice opportunities.

Each course was carefully written using simple and concise English so it could be easily understood by non-native English speakers and translated into several other languages.

Insights

This project opened my eyes to the value mobile learning can offer disadvantaged populations. EdApp can put self-paced learning in the hands of anyone with access to a smartphone and an internet connection, allowing learners to utilize any pockets of time they may have to learn educate themselves. Resources like this, along with our other course sets such as gender equality and disaster management, really drive home the power EdApp offers.
